Special Assistance

General information
If you have reduced mobility we can give you special assistance, or a helping hand, during your trip. Direktflyg offers assistance to travellers who are visually impaired, hearing impaired and travellers with reduced mobility. To guarantee the best possible service, you have to contact our Callcenter 48 hours before departure. Assistance must always be booked / confirmed in advance via telephone +46 (0) 770 790 700 or via mail callcenter@direktflyg.com.

The Jetstream32 aircraft requires the traveller to be able to get up and down the stairs on his own. Jetstream32 is currently operated on destinations Hagfors, Torsby, Sveg, Östersund and Umeå v.v.

Check-in
We ask you to arrive in good time before departure at the airport and that you have requested assistance at the time of booking. In case of assistance you must arrive at the gate at least 30 minutes before departure on domestic flights, at international flights you must arrive at least 1 hour before departure.

Booking a trip
In connection with your travel order you must state the type of assistance you need, and if you wish to carry oxygen for medical use on board.

  • WCHR (Wheelchair to ramp) I need a wheelchair to / from the aircraft but can walk by myself up and down the aircraft stairs and bring myself to my seat.
  • WCHS (Wheelchair to stairs) I need a wheelchair to / from the aircraft and need help up the aircraft stairs, with support I am able to go to my seat.
  • WCHC (Wheelchair to seat) I need a wheelchair to / from the aircraft and am not able to walk to my seat by myself.

Wheelchair
If you are travelling with your own wheelchair, it is important that you specify the type of wheelchair you will have with you, as well as the dimensions of this. Of course, you pay no extra fee to bring a wheelchair. Wheelchairs accepted for transport must not exceed dimensions: Length: 170 cm, Width: 85 cm, Height: 80 cm.

Assistance service at the airport

Assistance entails providing an airport attendant to assist passengers with a functional impairment at the airport and all the way to their seat on the plane if that is desired. Be sure to mention your needs when you book your tickets so that you can get the best assistance possible. Also remember to contact Swedavia assistance service at Arlanda terminal 3 when you have arrived at the airport so that they know that you are at the airport and are waiting for an airport attendant. For example, you may receive assistance if you have a disability that causes you to have reduced mobility, vision or hearing or if you feel anxious and find it difficult to find new places. Assistance is free for those who have a disability. It is also a statutory right that enables everyone to travel by air.
